Description

Zephyr, the Hex Conjeror faces off against an new type of foe; the Crestlich Matriarch, also known as the Daeva of Guard, one of the 14 Daevas, one of the most dangerous forms of Adena Krieger. Zeed damages Adena's sword, the Goldbyte and it causes her to go out of control and take this malevolent form. The fight takes place in a factorial setting, in the background cogs whirl, monitors with Zeed's creepy face look on manically. The demon in the background looking on from a balcony is Zeed himself. This is is an adaptation of 'An Apology Note'. Felt like I'd draw up the scene from the said writing.

Useless Lore

Adena Krieger's greatsword, the Goldbyte, serves as the seal and safeguard to her true form as a Daeva, the Daeva of Guard. Hearing of a normal person becoming something like a Daeva is blasphemy; the closest mortal to become a Daeva was Allan and Tay using the summoning stones to bring about Agu, The Daeva of Order. However, Agu has a will and a mind of his own and used to live in the past, so it's more possessing (like a ghost) than becoming a demi-god.

The Goldbyte at that note, was originally the sword belonging to Hertz Minton. It was infused with the blood of a Crestlich when he impaled one in the Fall. How it actually mutated into the black and gold sword Adena uses is not clear, but certain people are keen to know how this happened (notably the Assassins Guild)

Artist's Notes

Intermission original piece. I was working on this while working on another commission for someone, I just felt I really needed to polish my gallery up with original OC work. This is a new crestlich design I found tucked away in one of my personal Sketchbooks and I thought I'd complete it by giving it a body to go with the head design I conjured up here. The design here is actually missing it's horns, this is mainly because I only remembered them until the end, but when I added them in, they really didn't look that good anyway. I wanted to draw a version of the Crestlich that was winged and much more dangerous looking.

Lineart method is the same, long tedious one I practiced when drawing the Tribunal one; not sure if I'll stick to this method yet but it definitely looks neater to some degree.

Total time:- Many hours over 5 days. Used Photoshop CS5.1 Extend for colouring and Sai for the lineart.
